Unioto raced to a 4-0 halftime lead and never looked back in handing Zane Trace a 5-1 defeat in a rare Friday night soccer match.

The match -- originally scheduled for Saturday -- was moved to Friday night to avoid conflicting with the Zane Trace-Unioto football game Saturday.

"Unioto played a balanced attack throughout the night," assistant Unioto coach George Stoltz said. "Unioto's defense got a good challenge from Zane Trace's Mike Jaruwannakorn and Kazz Hall. They are good young, active players who kept us on our toes all night."

"Congratulations to coach Murton and the Pioneers. He has done a super job with the kids at Zane Trace and they are without a doubt one of the quality teams in the area. His kids play hard, play fair and maintain a great attitude. Win or lose, Zane Trace is a team we enjoy playing."
