Huntington's
Zach Riley set meet and school records with a winning vault of
10-3 in the Circleville Invitational boys junior high track and
field meet Saturday.
The
Huntsmen finished fifth among eight teams with 63 points. Logan
Elm was the team champion with 110 points.

Unioto
and Zane Trace are Scioto Valley Conference boys junior high track
and field co-champions after both teams scored 77 points in the
championships Wednesday evening at Piketon High School.
Zane
Trace won four events -- two by Justin Miller in the 110 and 200-meter
hurdles -- while Unioto relied on its depth with just one win.
Southeastern's
Chris Avery captured medalist honors with wins in the 100 and
400-meter dashes and a second in the 200.

wins Adena Invitational

Waverly's
Casey Williams didn't earn medalist honors, but he won both hurdle
races and ran on a winning relay to lead Waverly to the Adena
Junior High Invitational boys track and field title Saturday.
Medalist
honors went to Southeastern's Chris Avery -- winner of the the
100 and 200-meter dashes and runnerup in the 400 -- and Unioto's
Marcus Edwards, who won the 400 and 800 and was second in the
100.
Waverly
won the team title with 126 points -- well ahead of runnerup Huntington's
76 points.
Avery
tied the meet record of :11.8 in the 100 and Waverly won the 800-meter
relay in a record 1:44.2.

Galen
Dills of Unioto and Chris Avery of Southeastern captured individual
honors in the 24th annual J. A. Smith Invitational boys track
and field championship at Herrnstein Field/Bobo Track Saturday,
but Waverly took the team title.
Dills
won the long jump and 800 and 1600-meter runs and Avery swept
the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes as both scored 30 points to
share medalist honors.
Waverly,
however, displayed its depth in sweeping all three relays -- 400,
800 and 1600 -- to outscore Unioto 169 1/2-118 for the team championship.
