Unioto girls SVC junior high champs

Jodi Finchum and Lauren White won two events each to lead Unioto to a Scioto Valley Conference girls junior high track and field championship Wednesday evening at Piketon High School.

Finchum -- meet medalist with 28 points -- won the 200-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash while White captured the long jump and 100-meter hurdles.

They were the meet's only double winners as Unioto outscored runnerup Huntington 131-89.

Unioto wins Adena Invitational

Unioto outscored Waverly 112-103 1/2 to win the Adena Junior High Invitational girls track and field championships Saturday.

Aniya Strong of J. A. Smith was the meet medalist with 28 points -- winning the 100 and 200-meter dashes and taking second in the long jump.

Unioto's Katelyn Jinks tied the meet record of 5-0 in the high jump and teammate Jodi Finchum lowered the meet record in the 200-meter hurdles to 31.8. Adena set a record of :56.7 in the 400-meter relay.

Jodi Finchum edged teammate Lauren White for medalist honors as Unioto won the 24th annual J. A. Smith Invitational girls track and field title at Herrnstein Field/Bobo Track Saturday.

Unioto outscored runnerup J.A. Smith 160-131.

Finchum won the 200-meter hurdles, was second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash to take medalist honors with 24 points. White won the long jump and 100-meter hurdles and ran on a second place relay for 22 points.

Aniya Strong of host J. A. Smith won the 100 and 200-meter dashes and anchored the winning 400-meter relay.
